Emergency at the EFRC

June 11, 2008

Dear Friends:

With the recent flooding in central Indiana the EFRC has
been impacted in terms of our food supply for 186 cats. As
many of you know the majority of our food comes from the
local farming community, which has been hit hard by this
disaster.

With the waters receding and everyone getting back on their
feet we are ready to once again resume pickup of deceased
livestock. In a very bad turn of luck, last evening the
only truck on our possession that can be used for food
pickup and delivery has finally and completely died. The
projected cost for repair makes this both a bad investment
and unlikely to occur.

What we need to immediately obtain is a pickup truck,
preferably 1/2 ton with a "tommy lift" (lift-gate), in
order to resume pickup of our cats vital food supply. If
you are capable of helping with this important request or
know of someone who can be of assistance, your immediate
intervention is needed.

We have always resisted using this e-newsletter in this
way, but feel that today we have a real issue that needs
immediate assistance. If you have information or ideas you
would like to share with us, please call the rescue center
and ask for Joe Taft, (812) 835-1130.

Sincerely,

Jason Petrovich
