September 2013 ENEWS for the Exotic Feline Rescue Center

BOOMER BALL BASH
Please join us on October 6, 2013 in Bloomington, Indiana for the Boomer Ball Bash supporting the Exotic Feline Rescue Center. The event will take place at the Sycamore Farm at 1720 West That Road, Bloomington, Indiana. Festivities will begin at 3:00 pm and continue to 6:00 pm. It will be an afternoon of great live music, food by Short Stop BBQ Train, Upland Beer, wine from Monarch Beverage, soft drinks and live and silent auctions. Best-selling local author Michael Koryta has donated a remarkable live auction item: a one-night stay for 2 at West Baden Springs Resort. This is just one of the many great items that will be available. For more information, click the link below.

CAT TALES
Boi Pello, male serval, resides in the first enclosure that guests visit on the public tour. He currently resides with Mr. Bigglesworth, male serval, and Shiloh, female serval.

Boi Pello was living in Connecticut with a private owner in late October, 2003, when he was confiscated by the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection. After the confiscation he was transported to Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport, CT. At that time, authorities contacted the rescue center regarding Boi Pello’s circumstances. We, of course, agreed to give him a forever home.

Arriving on August 4, 2004, he quickly became a favorite on tour. He greets staff and visitors with a hiss because that is what servals do.

FAREWELL
We regret to announce that OT-Orange Tom, our orange Tabby cat that greeted our many visitors, has passed away. Although OT was small in size, he possessed the heart of a tiger. He will be greatly missed by all.
