DECEMBER 2013 ENEWS FOR THE EXOTIC FELINE RESCUE CENTER

The Exotic Feline Rescue Center would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We would also like to thank our pride of supporters for their continued assistance.

2014 SAVING THE BIG CATS CHARITY AUCTION
Please join us for the 7th Annual Saving the Big Cats Charity Auction on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at our new location, The Palomino Ballroom in Zionsville. Last year more than 200 supporters of the big cats came out for a great cause that raised more than $64,000.00 for the EFRC. This year our goal is to raise even more funding, which will assist with future rescues, building new enriched habitats, veterinary care and the day-to-day operation of the center. The ticket price is $65 which includes heavy hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer, live and silent auction, 50/50 raffle, music and lots of fun! Dress is business casual. Hope to see you there! Please visit www.efrcfundraising.org to purchase your tickets and learn more about this event.

WINTER WONDERLAND
Please join the BIG CATS on December 21 for Winter Wonderland at the Exotic Feline Rescue Center. The tour will begin promptly at 3:30 and will be followed by light refreshments. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under. Click on the link for more information.

CAT TALES
As most of you know, we have five female tiger cubs living at the rescue center. Naming these five little girls was the responsibility of wonderful supporters of the EFRC. We would like to introduce you to Claire. Claire is named after a little girl, Claire Antony. Claire was nine-years-old when she passed away in 2001 from a malignant brain tumor. Claire’s aunt, Lori Antony is a longtime volunteer at the center and has been waiting patiently to name a cub. Claire is the biggest of the five girls and has entertained many visitors with her rambunctious play. Gaining attention is her main goal. If you peruse EFRC photographs of the cubs, Claire is bound to be in all of them. Make sure to take her picture the next time you visit her and her sisters.

WISH LIST ITEM
The rescue center is in immediate need of a new or slightly used pick-up truck that will be used for a variety of jobs at the rescue center. If you are able to donate a truck, please contact the rescue center at 812-835-1130.

CUB CAM
Look for our newest addition to the EFRC website--CUB CAM. We are in the process of installing a webcam in the cubs’ enclosure. Viewers will be able to enjoy our five female cubs roughhousing, sleeping and eating. Be sure to check our website for the webcam’s debut.
