Staff and volunteers are thrilled to announce that King, male lion, and Jasmine and Lauren, female lions are back on the public tour. Long-time supporters have waited two years to visit with King and his family again.

King arrived at the center in 2001 shortly before Jasmine. Hoping the two could become enclosure mates, they were placed in neighboring enclosures so staff could observe their interaction. After a few days of positive interactions, the duo moved in together and have been together ever since. The addition of their daughter Lauren in 2003 completed the family. You will meet King, Jasmine and Lauren at the beginning of your tour.

Please join us on July 18 for our annual Summer Safari. You will take part in an extended tour that allows you to visit cats not seen on the public tour. We will serve refreshments also. Reservations are required and the cost is $10 for children 12 and under and $20 for adults. Please click on the link below for more information.

We have another easy way to support the rescue center. Shop at Krogers. By swiping your Kroger Plus card every time you shop, Kroger will donate a percentage of your purchase price to the EFRC. Registration is quick and easy and the BIG CATS will appreciate your support. Please visit our website for more information.

We invite interested folks to join us for a volunteer training on July 25 at 2:30. Be one of the hardy few who donate their free time to help the BIG CATS. Long time volunteers can attest to the wonderful experiences you will have at the EFRC. Some of these experiences include: freezing in the winter to the point of not being able to feel your toes, sweating profusely in the summer, getting soaked during a rain storm, shoes/boots/jeans covered in mud, getting sprayed by a tiger, being so hungry you are willing to eat a piece of raw meat as the food cart drives by, receiving a hug from blood covered keepers, etc. Our volunteers wouldn’t have it any other way and return again and again for these experiences. If you think you are up to the challenge, mark your calendar for July 25 at 2:30.

Camp Roar 2015 is open for registration. 8-11 year old children are invited to experience a camp like no other in Indiana. Campers will enjoy learning about our lions, tigers, leopards, pumas, servals and bobcats while taking part in educational activities that will include BIG CAT and endangered species facts, rescue stories of our resident felines, and the day-to-day running of the rescue center. Please click on the link below for more information.

Please include name and address of honoree in special instructions so we know who to contact about your thoughtfulness.

Thank you for your continued support!
